Couples openly discuss debt solutions
Changing times have revealed that only one in ten people would consider ending a relationship because of debt related issues.
Being discovered for undisclosed debt is no longer a cardinal sin amongst couples and almost 80% of people said that they would help their partner to settle any unexpected debt.
Mycallcredit have been monitoring people’s change of attitude towards debt related problems. This indicates that Britons have become more accustomed to debt and are more prepared to talk openly about money worries with their partner. People have also stopped hiding money worries and are more prepared to admit how much debt they are in and how much they can afford.
Couples are starting to share everything with their partners and actually feel relieved when they discuss money problems. Records show that only one in ten actually admitted lying to their partner about their level of debt.
When couples are open and honest about their finances, they can discuss the many debt solutions currently available such as debt consolidation, an IVA or bankruptcy.
During December 2006, the Citizens Advice Bureau received more calls than ever in relation to debt issues. This shows that people are more prepared to face up to their money worries and find ways to reduce debt. As a result, there was a reduction in credit card spending and bank loan applications.
Debt does not necessarily have to lead to a lifetime of secrecy and misery. If you are seeking IVA advice or looking for more information on bankruptcy or debt
consolidation then valuable debt help is just a phone call away.
